Autumn road trip to Paddy's Market - the Luck of the Irish
Well if it is the luck of the Irish you are after, then this market is the place to be. Paddy's Annual market has had the crowds standing in queue to get in for over 61 years. And the next event is coming in just a few weeks. There are rumors of shoppers who have been shopping there for over 50 years. There must be a reason for coming back time and time again.

And this is your lucky day, as I am letting the ginger cat out of the burlap bag about this market, just for our Melbourne readers.
This market is a feast for the eyes, a trove of treasure for bargain hunters, and a fun day out and about the leafy burbs of outer Melbourne.

But why is this market so extraordinary. Well first of all the variety of stalls, which include:
A massive Trash and Treasure stall
Clothing for children, women and men. Some new, but all carefully selected
And second, one of the organisers, Judith Paynter, talks about the importance of the market for the community. She says, "The annual market is brought to you by the Eltham Rural Group. The Group seeks to provide much needed support to local community groups and services in need such as the Royal District Nursing Service, CAVE, Riding for the disabled, Kalparrn, Foodshare, Berry Street and local fire brigades.

So now you have another 9 wonderfully supportive reasons for heading to this Market on Saturday 7 May 2016. It's at the Scout Hall Youth Road by the Tennis Club) in Eltham, 3095 on Youth Road, Eltham, Victoria Australia
Doors open from 10 am and the market goes to 1 pm.
This market is so special the local community have received an award for it.

But based on queues in prior years, I would be leaving the big smoke a bit earlier for your lovely drive out of the city towards the lungs of Melbourne. Just plan to eat breakfast at the market. Sausages are good with any meal in my book and if someone else is cooking, especially for these wonderful causes, that is even nicer.
