The humble Aussie pub. Where would we be without it? Hybrid offsprings of the marriage between British public houses and Australian climate and culture, Aussie pubs have been at the very centre of urban and rural social life since the Mason Arms (Australia's first pub), opened its doors at Parramatta in 1796, under the management of a freed convict.

[ADVERT]Sydney's historic Paddington precinct has more than its fair share of pubs, and in the great Aussie tradition of "you can't have too much of a good thing", they've decided to celebrate with a four day February feast of festivities. The inaugural kicks off on Valentine's Day, 14 February, and continues until Sunday 17 February with long lunches with a sporting twist, parties, trivia, a photography exhibition, beer tastings, discounts and more.
