Paddington is already a hub for all things fabulous, from trendy cafes & restaurants to vintage & designer boutiques & its newest addition is sure to shine: The Substation Vintage & Artisan Markets.
The historical Paddington Substation will now be hosting Brisbane's newest Vintage and Artisan market, where you will find a unique range of vintage and retro clothing and accessories from some of Brisbane's most fashionable collectors along with a collection of boutique-styled artisan stalls, showcasing handmade arts and crafts and designer products.
This indoor market offers a relaxing shopping experience in Brisbane's historical Substation Building, which is home to Hands on Art, an artist run, not for profit organisation dedicated to the creative development of individuals and their communities.
All stalls holders are carefully handpicked ensuring that the wares on sale stay true to the theme of vintage & artisan. I asked the event's organiser & store owner, Miss Mitty Cook, what had inspired this market & she responded with, "Paddington is already known to be a vintage, designer and artist's treasure trove with many well established boutique shops offering quality products. The aim is to give vintage collectors and artisans the opportunity to share their wares with the public in a one on one relaxed market environment".
Shoppers can visit Kitty's store this weekend where they will find the cutest bloomers & other vintage inspired handmade fashion from Love from Kitty.
Set to become a monthly event, this market is sure to be a favourite amongst the locals & visitors alike. There is plenty of streetside parking and some great places just a short stroll away (I recommend Sassafras) Oh, and be sure to become a fan of Substation Vintage and Artisan Markets Facebook Page so you can be kept up to date with dates, new vendors & specials.
