I'm a blogger living in Wollongong, NSW Australia. I enjoy travelling and exploring my hometown.

After spending the long weekend with my brother in Sydney and exploring the suburbs of Sydney I can say the highlight was Paddington Reservoir Gardens.

We were walking to the UNSW Galleries as they had some photography exhibits he thought I would like. As we walked past the local barracks he explained that we were going to the Reservoir Gardens first. Not knowing what to expect, we entered what looked like a very bland and flat park.

We then walked further in and you could start to see a small pond and old brick arches.

We walked down some stairs and into what could have been a courtyard to an old house. They had deck chairs for you to sit on around a square garden. It is a little oasis to the bustling street above.

There was already a party underway and some folk reading but when the sun comes from the west this little garden would surely be busy with the city slickers who live around it.

The plot of land was used as a reservoir back in the 19th Century, which was a main source of water. The garden was opened in 2009.
