Paddington Markets Goes Sustainable with Indira Naidoo

This Saturday, the 23rd of February, the iconic Paddington Markets will host a very special guest; celebrated Australian author, journalist and television presenter Indira Naidoo.

Ms Naidoo will be presenting a special talk about her 2011 best seller ' The Edible Balcony '. This critically acclaimed title explores how Ms Naidoo's transformed her restricted thirteenth-floor balcony into a thriving kitchen garden in just one year. There are also some fifty easy recipes included in the book, which demonstrate all the different ways one can showcase homegrown fruit, veggies and herbs. Ms Naidoo is also the current Wayside Chapel ambassador and hosts weekly gardening classes upon the Wayside Chapel roof top community vegetable garden.

As you tell, Ms Naidoo knows a thing or two about sustainable living practices and will be sharing her experience with Paddington Market visitors from 11am inside the church. You will also have the opportunity to meet and greet Ms Naidoo, as she will be participating in a book signing event following the talk.



But the wonderful Ms Naidoo won't be the only attraction at Paddington Markets this week, there will also be a range of children's workshops by Seed Harvest Spoon on offer. Seed Harvest Spoon is a great local organisation which promotes fun and educational sustainability activities for kids .

There will also be all the familiar market stalls on hand; from the local fashion and accessory stalls , to the hand made arts and crafts stalls , as well as those fabulous international food stalls .

And best of all, the Paddington Market is a free event for the whole family. So if you want to learn how you too can make sustainable changes at home, head to the Paddington Markets this weekend. It is sure to be an inspiring day for all.
