After reading about Pacific Rim Mix Plate Cafe & Takeaway online, I knew that there must be something special about Pacific Rim. My housemate decided he doesn't want any Hawaiian takeaway, as Hawaiian cuisine is "not known at all". So off this lone warrior went to check out what is possibly the only Hawaiian cafe/restaurant in Perth.

The shop isn't big and only able to sit a maximum of 20 people. It does look a little dated in terms of furnishings, but I was there for the food and not for the décor. I asked the owner what's good and he recommended that I order a Katsu Chicken with mixed sauce. Katsu Chicken - Oooh. But wait a minute, what is in the mixed sauce?

He told me that its creamy tarragon and spicy pele. He had me at spicy. So I took a box of the Katsu Chicken home in around 15 minutes.

The food is beautifully arranged just like in a Japanese bento box. I bit into the Katsu Chicken. Wow! Even after 15 minutes, it's still crispy. And my god, the mixed sauce is delish. It is a tad bit salty but goes wonderfully with the plump and fluffy Japanese rice in the box.

Thanks Pacific Rim for making my Friday night takeaway fantastic. I'd love to try their other foods, including the Huli Huli BBQ Chicken (apparently it's only available lunch time).

Check it out!
