Beach and Cocktails
This new and luxe looking restaurant and cafe certainly looks very inviting from the outside and inside. Polished gold, marble, brass, wood, and cute yet sophisticated touches speak of serious renovations of what used to be the Swissotel, and of serious commitment to good food, wine and coffee. Large windows opposite Sydney's most famous beach, comfortable and stylish furnishings and tables waiting for customers for breakfast, lunch or dinner certainly make you feel like you are in another world.
This is not the chic grunge for which parts of Bondi Beach has become well-known and appealing, this is sophistication reminiscent of old-worlde beach clubs, often found in the United States and Europe. But it is by no means stuffy or trying to be uber special; it feels comfortable, service staff is very welcoming and it doesn't matter if you are in just for a morning coffee after your brisk walk, a casual lunch with friends or for a more serious dinner for a celebration.
The menu is extensive and you can order small or large plates for dinner which is always a good idea if you are not so hungry or want to share a few small plates. The dishes use a number of native foods such as quandong, native currants, warrigal greens and sea succulents to add different flavours to some of the old favourites such as sirloin steak and grilled fish.
The Pacific Club is the perfect place for pre-dinner or anytime cocktails with some very innovative names and combinations of ingredients - No thyme to be blue or Ring of Fire perhaps? You can check out all the menus here.
