Unique fast-paced race across Adelaide’s CBD
The Great Food Rescue Race on Friday, 3rd November is a unique fast-paced race across Adelaide's CBD involving cooking, nutrition and 'food rescue' themed challenges, community, team building and fun, to raise awareness and funds to help OzHarvest rescue and deliver more quality, nutritious food to families in genuine need.
OzHarvest is Australia's leading food rescue organisation, collecting quality surplus food from more than 3,000 businesses, including supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, hotels, retailers, airports and retail food outlets.
Get a team and get ready to race
Join local businesses and community groups who have already signed up in teams of five, at Victoria Square from 2pm to 6pm, to compete against each other in a series of challenges between Adelaide's iconic food landmarks and charitable agencies. You'll always be on your toes as local chefs and food identities will be making surprise appearances during the day.
Now in its third year, the event highlights the important message about food waste and the challenges faced by people in need and how individuals can make a difference by giving back to the community in this very practical way.
Can't make the race? Look out for OzHarvest in the Rundle Mall on Friday, 3rd November where the public will be able to make a monetary donation and receive a banana smoothie made from quality, rescued produce.
Race registration: $275 (incl. GST) per team of 5 which includes your race day t-shirt, food, drinks & networking at the finish line and much more! Registrations are open now, so go to Great Food Rescue Race to register your teams
Fundraising: Teams are encouraged to raise $2,500 per team of 5, where possible. OzHarvest SA provides heaps of tips and tricks to help teams achieve this.
Every $1 = 2 meals OzHarvest can rescue from going to landfill and deliver to people in need.
You can make a difference to families in genuine need
