Having just attended Oz Comic Con in Sydney last weekend I was blown away by the large number of quality creative workshops from industry experts in the field of writing, comic creation, movie making, and of course actors. Many of the panels & workshops from Sydney are repeated at Oz Comic Con Brisbane. Here's eleven reasons why you should attend:
#1The Animation Panel with Maggie Roswell, Charles Martinet and Hal Royal. This panel was hilarious and the speed at which they switched voices from Mario to Luigi(Super Mario Bros), Helen Lovejoy to Cherie Bobbins (The Simpsons) & from Grover to Predator will astound and entertain you. There's something totally weird but fun about asking questions to an animated character voice.

#2 Devon Murray Panel. He most famously played the role of Seamus Finnigan in the Harry Potter movies and has plenty of funny stories to tell from behind the scenes. Ask him about his stud farm and he won't stop talking about it.

#3 Building Worlds & Wonders in Fantasy Panel. Any budding writer will have their mind blown with this collection of esteemed authors including Isabelle Carmody and David Farland who has won many awards and even taught Stephanie Meyer who wrote Twilight. David also pushed to have Harry Potter published after it was rejected numerous times.
#4 Teen Wolf Panel. Featuring twins Charlie Carver & Max Carver. I'll be honest I hadn't actually seen the tv series but Charlie & Max were so enchanting, funny and ridiculously good looking I'm curious to watch it now.
#5 Robert England Panel. Most famous for playing the role of Freddy Krueger. This is your opportunity to meet the man behind the mask and find out what scares him!

#6 Ken Kirzinger Panel. Ken started off as a stunt actor before expanding into the lead role of Jason in the latest Freddy Vs Jason movies. He has appeared on many television shows such as X-Files Stargate Atlantis, Supernatural and also X Men. Ken was really down to earth and has a bunch of great hollywood stories to tell.
#7 The Cosplay. Costume Players makes it feel like you are on a movie set as you wander casually past the likes of Thor, Deadpool and Suicide Squad members to name just a few. It's all in good fun and most cosplayers will be more than happy to pose for photographs. Wow all your friends with your next Facebook display photo next to Captain America, Harley Quinn or Thor. Check the Cosplay Parade for the best of the best.

Here's your chance to meet the stars who's day job is making You Tube videos including a dancer, a singer and a horror make up effects artist. Plenty of opportunity for questions so you can start your new career!
#9 Learn a new skill like dying synthetic wigs, cosplay make-up, getting started with costume making, creating a comic from concept to print, learn new board games, how to make video games and learn the secrets to writing the next bestselling novel with multiple writing workshops or start a sewing kit so you can make your own clothes.

#10 Chill out in the Anime Station Discover the Japanese fascination with manga books and watch anime movies (there are bean bags and headphones).
#11 Market stalls. Even visiting both days of Comic Con I didn't get to see all panels. Regardless of whether you're a fan of a tv show or actor who is running a panel, it's still interesting hearing what goes on behind the scenes and their personal stories of working with other famous actors. Be sure to have a bank of questions to ask at each panel or workshop.
Oz Comic Con Brisbane is on Saturday 17th & 18th September 2016 at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
