Rare finds in a rare place
Tucked away in a lovely, quiet corner of Oxely is Oxley Nursery. You may need a map to find it but it's worth looking for.

You will be glad you made the journey here. From the moment you arrive and enter the nursery you see the difference from other places. It is absolutely lovely, lush and interesting all at the same time.

Water features!

Large pots, planters, soils and water features start the show.

The grounds are designed to flow your way through the property, allowing you to take everything in. So make sure you go slowly because there is much here, and many things you will not find anywhere else.

Screening and Hedging!

Having checked out several nurseries in the west side and the south side of Brisbane it is wonderful to find one that has those amazing and rare plants that you love to come across as a gardener, those things that you don't often see, or want to find but never know where to look. This is your place, and Oxley Nursery specializes in plants specific to the Brisbane climate.

Madagascar Palms lead you to money plants, succulents, heliconias and more. Plants for screening and hedging abound in texture and size and there are feature trees for creating interest in your yard.

There are ready made bonsais to buy. Then there are bonsais to do yourself with a wide range of pots and plants that will keep you sculpting and trimming for ages.

It is surprising to see a Cardinal Creeper as you wander. If you have been to South Bank along the River Quay restaurant section there is a beautiful specimen outside Aquitaine that you will have admired.

Maybe you are looking to create your garden space indoors. Have no fear, there is no shortage of beautiful greenery that you can display in and around your home or apartment.

Flowering shrubs like azaleas and camellias, now in season, are beautiful in their colour and are ready for new homes. Hibiscus round out the beauty of flowering shrubs.

There is no finer selection of palms, with several different types to choose from.

The Cardinal Creeper is a rare find!

Bromeliads and grasses are stunning and plentiful. Brazilian walking irises, philodendrons, dieffenbachias and more foliage plants line your way through the shade portion of the lot.

How about a hoya? The varieties are incredible and if you are patient, this beauty will have you basking in fragrant flowers in about 5 years. They are creeping vines but also can hang in pots and require little maintenance other than to be left alone until they need a new pot. The scent is heavenly and reserved for the night.

Unique, exotic and tropical flowering cactus hang in rows above your head as you pass by.

And then there are fruit trees, but which one will you choose?

There are even flowers along the way to brighten those pots and places that call out for colour.

Once you have finished and take your purchases back to the hut you get to check out all the items that are inside for sale as well: fertilizers, insect repellents, and more.
