Well I for one love chocolate. I don't think I have ever met anyone who does not. And if I did meet that someone, we probably might not become "besties".

All flavors are fab, white, milk, nutty, but my all time favourite is dark chocolate. So how could I resist not going into a draw for a massive chocolate Easter Hamper being given away by Oxfam that has over $200 dollars worth of chocolate yum in it.

And it is so simple to do, just enter a wee bit of a competition by doing something that also makes your heart feel good. Just make any purchase from an Oxfam Shop before 23 March either in-store or online to go into the draw to win this hamper.

On-line is simple, as they have a fabulously easy to use website to purchase from where you can get innovative gifts such as home decor, music, toys, kitchen good, fashion, plus food and drinks, cards, paper; endless list continues.

And they are all Fair Trade. But what does Fair Trade mean you might ask. Fair Trade is Oxfams vision where they work at supporting people in their own worlds to be able to improve their lives whether it be by making sure they get salaries that are fair, working conditions that are fair, food, water and fair housing just to name a few projects. This is just not about giving them money, this is about also helping with re-skilling and education, so they can start their own businesses and become economically viable within their own worlds.

The other wonderful thing about Oxfam is that the percentages that are donated and the percentages that get to the true people in need are Fair as well. 69% goes to actual help program and advocacy work, 20% Fundraising and promotion, such as their website, and only 11% to administration.

I find this wonderfully refreshing. I was horrified to hear that of all the money that kind hearted Australians poured into donations for those in our last bush fires, that hit the Marysvillle area only the tiniest portion actually got to the physical people and the towns that were so devastated. But that is a story for another day.

I adore the fact that I can gift a goat for a family so they can have fresh milk for their children and village. Don't worry they do not ship them live from Australia, but instead give local goat farmers revenue and source them locally. Two hits with one donation; how good is that.

So come on, lots of us love eating lamb and goat at Easter, so give a goat, so they can too, and go into this fab draw.

Now if you prefer to browse and want to see some of the stunning goods that are created, there are three shops around Melbourne and one is close to you at Chadstone, another at 132 Leicester Street, Carlton 3053, and a third at Shop 45, Walk Arcade, Bourke Street Mall, Melbourne 3000.

Take a drive so you can see the quality of the hand-made gifts and touch and feel first hand the craftsmanship of their hands working overseas. Then you can go the website to order more and more with total trust.

Another wonderful thing about Oxfam is they do not just ship all the money and help overseas; they support our Indigenous families here in Australia as well. I feel, we should feed the homeless and the poor in our own country instead of shipping massages of donations overseas. Get our children and elderly off the streets first. When there is not one more homeless person in Australia, then ship buckets. But with this charity, they make it easy to help both.

Oxfam states, "We work with partners and communities to find practical, innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and THRIVE." Hear, hear. I am off to buy a goat.
