We visited yesterday with our son, our daughter-in-law and the two grand-daughters aged three and one. The waiter made the kids feel very welcome supplying them with colour pencils and inviting them to use the paper menu to draw on.
We ordered chips for the girls, lasagna, pizza and chicken schnitzel for the rest of us. Sounds a bit ordinary but it's not. One of the best lasagnas you could wish for, and my pizza was gourmet with spicy pork sausage and marinated eggplant. Good size servings too. The children were given a choice of ice cream to finish with which was either home made or the nearest thing to it - I wanted some!
The wine and beer list is above average, I had a Shiraz and everyone else had a pale ale from West City Brewing called, appropriately, Footscray Ale. Otherwise known as Scrale! Funnily enough the Brewer lives just around the corner and had dropped in with his Dad who obligingly let me take his photo with the said brew.
It must be good as Ovest had sold out and was ordering more. Good example of supporting the locals and Australian products.
