Where are you more likely to find a party of fairies than at an Old World, Tudor style enchanted castle. The grace, the elegance and the grandeur of a time long ago still linger in the carefully maintained bluestone walls. The steeped pitched roofs and overhanding battlement corner turrets emerge from the magical English garden at Overnewton Castle in Keilor, the perfect backdrop for an assembly of happy little fairies.
Often chosen for weddings and receptions, the heritage listed, Scottish Baronial style Overnewton Castle offers a selection of fine dining along with a range of accommodation options. There's The Cottage, The Stables and The Loft, and for business functions, fully catered conference room facilities.
But on Wednesday 21st September, the tranquil 4-acre estate will be aflutter with an abundance of fairies and their superhero friends for a very special, school holiday High Tea event. Guests will be greeted with a glass of Sparkling and Pink Lemonade, along with an assortment of Petit Fours, before sitting down to a delicious selection of finger sandwiches, hot and cold savoury items and scones served with jam and cream. The air will be fragrant with freshly brewed Twinning's tea, coffee and hot chocolate with marshmallows for the kids.
The fairy and superhero high tea will commence at 11am and conclude at 1pm. Throughout the day a jumping castle will be available to all, with plaster mould paintings and face painting at an additional cost.
