The award-winning Outpost Cafe is located in the charming rural town of Canungra, Gold Coast Hinterland. Originally built in 1946 as a cafe serving meals to the Canungra Army Barracks, today it is a destination and attraction for motorbike riders, weekenders and travellers.
The cafe is owned and managed by the Cavin Bro, who makes sure The Outpost Cafe offers great food and service. It offers strong quality coffee, homemade pies and sausage rolls, all-day breakfast and a large menu for any hours of the business day.

The sausage rolls are also made every day fresh on the premises with quality ingredients and they are highly rated.

I stopped in the morning at the Outpost Cafe just before starting the long and winding road to the Green Mountains and I grabbed a takeaway plain scone. It was given to me in a brown bag complete with cutlery, a little container of jam and cream was also available, all for $3.00.
Soft drinks and flavoured milk are also available. The Outpost Cafe has beers, wines and ciders for the full enjoyment of the dining experience. The alcoholic beverages are available at the counter.
All day breakfast has a large variety of choices such as plain or raising toast for $4.50, steak and egg toast for $14.50, country style with eggs, bacon, grilled tomatoes, hash brown and toast for $15.50, Stockman's Mega with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausage, hash brown and toast for $17.50.

The coffee is a blend of South American, South Asian and Central American Arabica and Robusta Beans. The Outpost Cafe supports sustainable and better coffee farming. The special blend is a mix of flavours from dark chocolate, caramel and citrus notes that linger inside the mouth.
You can purchase Outpost Cafe blend to enjoy a great coffee at home or to highlight some special moments with family, friends or at work.
The Outpost Cafe is open seven days a week from 5:30am. The cafe is very popular with motorbike riders. Often the two wheels moto vehicles are all parked outside and the riders are getting refreshments before continuing their trips on the Scenic Rim.
I stop at the Outpost Cafe in the morning when hiking in the Green Mountains. It is nice to grab a coffee or a scone before driving the narrow and winding road to O'Reillys. It is also great to have lunch or a snack before driving home.
Canungra is situated in a strategic position and there is so much to do in weekends and holidays!
You can drive to O'Reilly's and hike a trail in the World Heritage-listed Gondwana rainforest. Plan your walk, bring with you all the necessary gear and choose a walk for your level of fitness. Hike in the morning and allow enough time to avoid to hike in the dark.

The Outpost Café is out of this world Cris. I'm a fussy eater but I think I could make short work of every dish shown. Not in the one sitting I might add. From first hand experience I can recommend balloon flights.
