Enjoy movies and fresh air in Perth
Now that the days are getting a bit cooler, it is refreshing to step outdoors and enjoy the fresh, crisp air. If you love getting out and about and being entertained, watching a movie outdoors will enable you to kill two birds with one stone. If you like talking in the cinemas or have young children, an outdoor movie will give you a bit more freedom as the open air is quite forgiving on noise.

See below for a list of open-air cinemas currently available in Perth:

1) Northbridge Piazza

Free flicks for kids feature every Saturday afternoon up to April 2015 at the Northbridge Piazza screen. Bring your little ones out onto the green lawn and either bring a picnic mat or enjoy the Piazza's comfy beanbags. Upcoming movies include

a) Cars 2 (2011) on Saturday 28th March 2015 at 7pm
b) Cloudy with a chance of meatballs (2009) on
Saturday 4th April at 5.30pm
c) Ratatouille (2007) on Saturday 11th April at 5.30pm

2) Rooftop Movies

If the city view is more your thing, enjoy the panoramic views from the sixth floor of the Roe Street carpark in Northbridge. You will still get a green lawn (even though it is astro turf) and vintage seats from wooden crates. Tickets are $15 if you purchase online or $16 at the door. For $10 you can park your car all night from 6pm. Movies are a mix of older and latest releases with upcoming showings below:

c) Tuesday 31 March – Inception
d) Wednesday 1 April – Moonrise Kingdom

3) Ben & Jerry's Open Air Cinemas

Sit on inflatable chairs while you enjoy the breeze at Riverside Drive, corner of Adelaide Terrace. Every Sunday there is a Sundae session with the best up and coming local musicians and DJ sets with free Ben and Jerry's ice-cream for all ticketholders and games played on the lawn. Pre-sale prices start at $15 per ticket. Instead of advertisements while waiting for the movie to start, live music is definitely a welcome change as you chill out with your friends.
