Watch the witches of Wicked in a FREE spell-binding outdoor community event for the whole family on Saturday 5 April 2025 in Brisbane's Upper Kedron.



Bring a picnic, lounge with a rug and a pillow and get comfy on the lawns of the Upper Kedron Recreation Reserve as the film Wicked (Part 1) starts at 6pm. But that's not all. Prior to watching the movie, there will also be lots of fun-packed activities for the whole family including:
- Sparky Do Dah Kids Day with fun activities for the kids
- Free Face Painting
- Free Popcorn
- FairyFloss

The Upper Kedron Recreation Reserve is located at 270 Upper Kedron Road, Upper Kedron.



About Wicked - The Film
The highly acclaimed and much admired musical fantasy film stars Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, a misunderstood young woman who has yet to discover her true power, and Ariana Grande as Glinda, a popular young woman who has yet to discover her true heart. The two meet at Shiz University and forge an unlikely friendship before their lives take different paths following an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Most recently, Wicked received two prestigious Academy Awards at the 2025 ceremony in Los Angeles, so here's your chance to see it for yourself.

The Community Outdoor Cinema event is an initiative of Local Government Councillor Steve Toomey and the Brisbane City Council.
