It's the zoo's 130th birthday, and to celebrate they are letting wild animals out on the streets of Adelaide.
Don't be too concerned - no street preachers will be devoured by hungry lions!
Out of the Zoo takes place over two weeks. In the first week (April 14-18) internationally renowned artist Emma Hack and local artists will publicly paint life size sculptures of some favourite zoo residents - a giraffe, panda, tiger and orang-utan - in Hindmarsh Square.
In the case of bad weather, Hindmarsh Square events will be moved to the Adelaide Zoo rotunda. Check the Splash Adelaide website for updates.
Featured artists will be: Sunday April 14 Fredrock painting the panda Adelaide Zoo rotunda (10am 4pm)
Monday April 15 Emma Hack painting the giraffe Hindmarsh Square (10am 4pm)
Tuesday April 16 Emma Hack painting the giraffe Hindmarsh Square (11am 2pm)
Wednesday April 17 Henry Jock Walker painting the orang-utan Hindmarsh Square (11am 2pm)
Thursday April 18 Narisha Cash painting the tiger Hindmarsh Square (11am 2pm)
