In Suicide Prevention - The First Step is Awareness

"When you feel like giving up, just remember the reason why you held on for so long." Unknow

Out of the Shadows allows those touched by suicide to remember loved ones, friends, work or school mates and to raise awareness of the issue of suicide. Suicide is preventable. Awareness is the first step. Let us walk together.

Join Lifeline & the Ipswich Suicide Prevention and Awareness Network (iSPAN) for Out of the Shadows and into the Light. Suicide is the leading cause of death for Australians under the age of 44. Lifeline believes we all have a role to play in suicide prevention. Each day, over 2000 calls are answered by Lifeline volunteers who provide crisis support to individuals nationwide. Lifeline aims to reduce stigma and increase suicide awareness in communities so that anyone can give and receive care. Lifeline believes that no suicidal person should be left alone and that access to support and intervention for all people in times of crisis can save lives. For 24hr crisis support call 13 11 14.
