What are you doing for Valentine's Day this year? Has the question popped up already? No wonder. It's a leit-motif throughout the second half of January and the first days of February. If you are planning to do the romantic dinner at a fancy restaurant thing, you should hurry up and book the table. Otherwise, you might end up having your Valentine's Day dinner at a restaurant you don't like so much, eating food you don't really enjoy and bumping into other couples on your every single move.

But, haven't you done this already, too many times maybe? Isn't it too common for such a special day? You just have to add the traditional bunch of red roses, a box of chocolates, and you are there: the stereotypical image of Valentine's Day is complete. What if this year you try something outside the box for a change?

Up in the Air for Valentine's Day

Jules Verne thought hot air balloon rides belong to the world of science-fiction. Like with many other concepts, he was proven wrong. While they are not a common means of transportation, hot air balloon tours represent a great way of exploring a region.

How about inviting your partner to a ride in the clouds for Valentine's Day? It will be only the two of you (and the balloon operator) up there, glancing at the world from above. Isn't this the ultimate idea of romance? If you are the man and you are planning to propose, this would be the perfect moment to do it.

The Food of Love

Coming back on Earth and returning to the classical Valentine's Day dinner, here is another idea: prepare the food yourself. If you really want to woo your partner, make his/her favourite dish. Or, you can be creative and try something new. Depending on your culinary preferences, think about adding some chocolate, asparagus, strawberries, oysters or honey to the mix. Although it has not been proven scientifically, they are believed to have some aphrodisiac effects.

Looking for something elegant? Arrange the dinner table, don't forget the compulsory candles and dress up. Are you in the mood for something more casual? Then, a picnic on the floor would do the trick. For a sensual experience, try feeding each other.

Play a Game

If you want to spice up the atmosphere, there is no better way of achieving your goal than playing a game. You can organise a treasure hunt. Just hide small gifts and love messages throughout the house and provide your partner with clues to discover them. This game can be mutual and if you are not afraid you will ruin the surprise, you can talk about it beforehand.

Truth or dare is another option. Take the time to prepare the dares together (another fun activity), then push the start button. You will take turns in asking each other more or less intimate questions. Better be prepared to answer as otherwise you will have to pick a dare.

Are you thinking about something bolder? Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity for a role game, if you are into that sort of things. Make sure your partner is on the same line and prepare your sweet sexy costume.
