Our Man in Berlin released their debut EP
is it right? in May 2014 and have been growing in leaps and bounds in airplay and popularity, not to mention a mass following on social media. They're even getting airplay overseas from College stations in the UK, USA, Greece and German radio station FluxFM. It also saw them tour the country twice with 4 of the singles receiving both national and international acclaim. Their
Soundcloud page has also been hit so many times, it's starting to develop a bruise.
Molière the single and the band's newest release, shares its name with a 17th century French playwright and his penchant to dabble in tragic comedy. This track uses the themes and similar attributes to 'create the narrative not in comedy, but atop heavy bass lines rhythmic guitars and urgent beats' according to the band.
If healthy praise is anything to go by, according to writer and reviewer Lyndon Blue of
Cool Perth Nights , this is what he had to say about the band. "Here's a triumph of indie-rock/electronica fusion, striking up a tasteful symbiosis that surprisingly few bands manage. Intricate drum patterns weave between restrained guitars and ping-pong synth pulsations; verby (but never insipid) vocals flow overhead. This EP's a descendent of "Kid A," Yet it's the inspiration - not imitation - that prevails."
Don't miss out on listening to some great sounds while they're right here in Melbourne
for one night only, and open yourselves up to the amazing performance of
Our Man In Berlin.
