"Our Journey" Aboriginal Art Exhibition

An exhibition of two Aboriginal Artists will open at the Graydon Gallery, New Farm, on Friday March 8th, and continues to March 20th.

Lloyd Hornsby Gawura is an internationally acclaimed Yuin man, who has an impressive range of work in his 15 years of working with community. "His paintings are intensely optimistic in the way they use modern art as a vehicle for conveying ancient harmonies." You can read more about him here .

Deb Taylor is a Kamilaroi woman from New South Wales, and has been working on her art for the past 15 years. Deb uses the principles of dendroglyphs designs in her paintings and clay works. She graduated in 2008 from Griffith University's College of Art, with a Bachelor of Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art. Since then she has worked as an artist and an educator. She has exhibited in numerous group shows, illustrated three children's books, conducted many workshops and created public and community artwork. (dendroglyphs – see this website for explanations.)

The opening is at the Graydon Gallery on Friday 11th March from 6 pm to 6.30 pm with Artist Talks. To RSVP contact Wendy at [email protected] or 0403 383 080. Admission is free.
