Our Herd at Burbank on the border of Brisbane and Redland City is an outdoor education centre that runs regular programs and workshops for children and adults.



Our Herd offers individual horse riding lessons that include horsemanship, dressage, jumping, trail riding, and bareback riding, as well as a range of other equine-assisted learning sessions.



Other workshops that aim to inspire children and adults to learn about themselves and improve their ability to connect with others through a specifically design curriculum that combines learning, play, and nature include:




Programs that are specifically designed for youth range from a kids fun club held one Saturday night a month and school holiday programs that include bushwalking, camp cooking, orienteering, and animal care to a structured building blocks program designed by Canadian psychologists consisting of 12 sessions that can be completed individually or as an entire program and aims to help develop a young person's self-esteem, strengthen their communication skills, practise teamwork, support young people with learning differences, improve family dynamics, and support the development of emotional regulation.

Our Herd runs school holiday programs on separate days for children aged 8 -12, and 13 - 16. These programs include horsemanship, marshmallows over a campfire, animal husbandry with bees and dogs, and the like.



Our Herd also offers a fun club for 8 - 12 year olds, and 13 - 16 year olds one Saturday afternoon and evening respectively for participants who have engaged in their other programs above. Each fun club is held for 2 hours and includes sructured activities such as pizza nights, animal dress-ups, or other activities based on the specific group's interests. The goal of these programs is to support young people in forming postive friendships with like-minded others.



The wonderful programs at Our Herd go beyond just horse riding to provide holistic opportunities for youth and adults to strengthen their horsemanship skills, self-esteem, and communication skills in a beautiful bushland environment. Lessons are offered during school hours for children who are homeschooled, after school hours, and on Saturdays and Sundays.
