Looking for somewhere to go for breakfast that won't break the bank? Why not try Our Haus. Our Haus is a successful cafe in Brisbane's Hawthorne district that pays close attention to customer service whilst delivering quality fresh food. Located on Riding Road the cafe serves a fantastic breakfast menu teamed with Merlo's signature coffee range to kick start your morning. Breakfast is served from 7-11am Monday - Sunday and boasts a filling menu for the masses. A favourite that made the rounds on a few tables was the Eggs Hawthorne - Leg Ham off the bone & avocado topped w/ poached eggs & haus hollandaise on Turkish. This incorporates everything one looks for in an Eggs Benedict, but here you can be 100% sure you are getting fresh local produce. Another delicious add-on to the breakfast menu is the always satisfying Grilled Haloumi and Our Haus does a good job of teaming this favourite in their Avocado Allure dish.
Although it was my first time at Our Haus it did take me by surprise. The venue was filled with bike riders who had finished their morning route and were filling up on the cafe's offerings. We were seated immediately by a friendly staff member at a table outside and perused the menu to satisfy our tums. We both chose the Eggs Hawthorne (fitting as a signature dish and reflection of where we were) which came out with poached eggs cooked to perfection. They effortlessly drizzled over the turkish once poked, just as they should.

The coffees came out initially and my soy latte was a delectable sip of milky bliss. I have ventured to a few breakfast venues and am usually hesitant to order a soy latte because most of the time they have come out tasting below average. Luckily, this was not the case. The only negative about the morning was on asking for a lemon wedge to accompany my dish, I received a lime wedge. But hey, I guess they are much of a muchness, so I am not going to let this insignificant cross communication deter from the fact that the meal was satisfying and the service was of a high standard.
