Sensational food and a stunning location for every season
Whether you're looking for a place to escape the summer heat or somewhere to settle in for a cool winter evening, Osteria is for you. Located away from busy traffic noise, you can relax alfresco, overlooking their herb and vegie garden or find a comfy corner lounge and watch the comings and goings of locals grabbing their coffee fix and a muffin to go.
Watch the world go by from your table in the sun. Perfect for your morning coffee
Take a seat at one of their generous sized tables outside, and enjoy the dappled morning sun while you await your beautifully made Toby's Estate Coffee and wholesome brekky. My choice was the Bircher muesli with granny smith apple and fresh berries topped with honey-roasted nuts offering just the right sweetness you're looking for.
Our recent lunch at Osteria had everyone in our party, quite seriously raving. From the Confit Duck Salad, and the pasta of the day (a seafood linguine on this occasion) to Osteria's Sunday roast special, every meal was thoroughly enjoyed. And when Miss 3 had a special request that wasn't on the menu, the friendly staff were more than happy to oblige.
Generous tables and open air dining welcome you to Osteria
And while we polished off dessert, the outdoor playground kept the little one entertained. What parent wouldn't love a play area, fenced off from the road and surrounded by garden. And if you're there without children, there's nothing better than the kids having their own space away from tables, where they can… well, be kids.
The sign says 'Love is a Playground' and what parent or child wouldn't love this. Fenced off from the road and under a huge Fig Tree
Evening meals at Osteria are designed to be a sharing affair so take a leap of faith and let the amazing staff select a range of dishes for you and your table to enjoy. The journey is sure to be both pleasurable and delicious. And as the evenings get cooler, we love Soup Night for a midweek treat. You really can't go wrong with a $12 soup and house wine special including a home made bread roll.
We're locals, so Osteria is always on the menu for us with its open airy feel outside and the warm and welcoming atmosphere inside. The amazing food is incredibly well-priced and the staff are friendly and fun. Oh, and the added bonus… every visit to the bathroom includes a free Italian language lesson – you'll see what I mean.
