It's over 20 years since the building of Osprey House on the North Pine River at Griffin was started. It is now a wonderful Environmental Centre owned and operated by the Moreton Bay Regional Council.
Right on the river, with great boardwalks through the mangroves, it is a great place to see the myriad of birds that live and play along the river.
The area is home to all sorts of birds and animals including koalas, possums, snakes, lizards, pelicans, and so many birds many that nest in the nearby trees.
Inside the Centre, there are many displays and things to see and do as well as watch the vision of the Ospreys nesting on the big screen.
The volunteers are happy to show you around and share wonderful information about the wildlife that call Osprey House, their home.
The centre is open 7 days a week from 10 am to 4 pm and is a great place to hold children's birthday activities, but they ask you not to bring balloons, plastic straws or other items that are not environmentally friendly.
