Learn how to tame that mane with Oscar Oscar
I have a love-hate relationship with my hair.

On the days I wake up and it looks amazing (very very rarely), I'm all like, "I doggone love my hair!"

The more likely scenario is my hair looks like a bird's nest and there is NOTHING I can do to make it any better, so I wear a balaclava.

So, when a class like the Oscar Oscar Masterclass comes along, you leap at it. It's a chance to finally learn how to do something, anything, with my unruly hair - before I decide to shave it all off out of frustration.

Oscar Oscar are offering masterclasses in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane for the month of April. I attended the one in Brisbane at their City salon last night, and let me tell you, I was impressed.

The class is advertised as teaching you how to create:
1. Relaxed Beach Waves;
2. A Powder Bun; and
3. A Textured Braid.

The masterclass starts at 6:30 pm and finishes at 8:30 pm. The class costs $20. You immediately get the $20 back in a voucher to spend on products on the night - which is fantastic.

The night starts with a cheeky glass of Moscato or juice. You grab your goodie bag (more on this later) and take a seat. The wonderful stylists begin with demonstrating the styles that they will be teaching you for the night, which is pretty much all I was expecting from the night - a demonstration and shameless self promotion. I was wrong.

What I got was so much more. They assigned a stylist per two people and actually taught you the styles. My stylist - Danny - was incredible. He managed to teach someone as uncoordinated as me how to use my GHD to curl my hair (finally!) and how to Dutch braid, among other invaluable tips that I am already using.

So, all I can say is check this poster for location and time and make sure you book a spot.

PLUS - this is what was in my goodie bag (including a Napoleon Perdis makeover valued at $89 - FTW):
