Family & runner-friendly events for everyone

Orienteering Western Australia is kicking off their exciting summer series of park/urban orienteering events this November. You are invited to join them for an Urban Adventure in a new location each week!

Running on Saturdays from 7 November to 13 February, the Orienteering MetrO Series is all about having fun and discovering metropolitan parks and reserves throughout the suburbs of Perth.

Orienteering is a sport with the aim to navigate your way around a course in the fastest possible time. Compasses are not needed (though you can bring one if you have it or they will be available to borrow if you want one along with the necessary SI card).

The courses are suitable for all ages and abilities - they are family-friendly, pram-friendly and runner-friendly, ranging from 3-8 km in length.

You can walk or run, go alone or in a group. Children are welcome to take part - in a sling, on your back, in a buggy or let them walk! Dogs on leads are welcome too.

Arrive from 4:15 pm ready to set off at 5pm in a mass start. Be as quick you can (to be in with the chance of a prize) or just see how far you can get/how many controls you can get in the time. Courses close at 6:15 pm.

Come along to one event or take part in the series? How far up the leaderboard will you get? No membership required but if you're coming along each week, it's cheaper if you do join. We'd love to see you.
