Vegetarian? Vegan? Or just love good food? Then Glenelg holds your new home-away-from-home – The Organik Store. This little store is a completely licensed café as well as a small organic market in one. Located at 37 Broadway in Glenelg, it's literally a 5 minute walk from the beachfront. If you're looking for a delicious roast chicken wrap, a brekkie on the run, Organik lasagne or just something sweet to hit the spot, then this place has it. Not only can you dine in during your lunch break or catch up with friends for breakfast, they offer catering services too. So whatever you might be hosting can now be an organic and allergy-conscious event.
The Organik Store also has a great selection of strange sounding but must-be-good-for you drinks like a gogo goji, which according to their website is "
a tasty blend of apple, banana, blueberry, raspberry and goji berries" or a revitaliser which is a blend of "
apple juice, kiwi fruit, cucumber and Spirulina". The Organik Store does have a tasty list of smoothies available too that range from a yogi bear – a mix of "
chocolate, peanut butter, honey, banana, ice-cream and milk" to a big kahuna, which is a concoction of
"banana, dates, LSA, egg, yoghurt and milk". They do takeaway too – so if you're too tired to cook or need a pick-me-up drink at lunch time, you can get it to go.

A quirky edge that this store has is that it owns its chickens. They are "
on a biodynamically farmed vineyard [and] they are free to roam around and scratch in the dirt searching for worms". So take note of how good the eggs are at The Organik Store, because they're super fresh and local.
Within the same store, but just a room away are all the organic groceries you could need. From baby food to supplements. From fruit and vegetables to tea and coffee. From chocolates to wines – The Organik Store has it and more. They cater to those who are inclined towards organic skin and body care products too, things that big chain supermarkets don't stock.
