My husband and I were driving down South Dowling Street on a beautiful Saturday afternoon when I looked out the window and saw a long queue outside this shop, that I had seen a few times but never tried out - the Organic Bread Bar. Seizing the moment, I asked my husband to stop at the next available parking spot.
As we walked towards the shop, we were greeted by the beautiful smell of freshly baked bread. We walked into what seemed like a tiny shop and were surprised to see a huge work area behind glass doors with the bakers working away. This European bakery was stocked with heaps of different varieties of breads, cookies, pastries and coffee which made deciding what to buy all the more difficult. After much though and deliberation, my husband and I finally decided on a Focaccia Loaf ($10). And it was a great choice. The Focaccia loaf has to be the tastiest bread I have ever eaten. It had a wonderful taste of Cherry tomatoes, Kosher salt and herbs and was crusty on the outside and yet soft on the inside. And for all the lactose and gluten intolerents out there, don't worry, they have a number of lactose free and gluten free breads for you to choose from.

The Foccacia Loaf
The best part about the Organic Bread Bar is that you get your breads absolutely fresh. The trick being that they bake throughout the day, so whatever time you come in, you can be assured of "fresh out of the oven" bread. Only about a year old, this little bakery has become extremely popular with a huge following of loyal customers. The authenticity of this European bakery is ensure by the 50 year old German wood fired oven, which has been imported in by head baker and owner Andreas Rost from his hometown, Stuttgart in Germany. Andreas has been baking since he was 15 years old and started his career in Sydney with baking at the Organic Republic Bakery in Bondi.
