If you're looking for a quick and easy dessert, look no further. This is one my favourites when needing something for a party or entertaining guests, and it only takes three ingredients for them to become completely addictive.

Ingredients

1 pkg (225g) Cream Cheese (softened)
1 pkt (150g) Oreo's
1 pkt dipping chocolate

Method

1. Chop Oreo's up in a food processor. They will combine with the cream cheese easier if they pieces are smaller, but it's up to you how chunky you would like the pieces. Save some of the finely crushed Oreos for garnish later and set it aside. You don't need too much.

2. With your hands, mash softened cream cheese and crushed Oreos until well combined.

3. Roll into 1 inch balls and place on a wax covered cookie sheet. Put in freezer for 15 minutes.

4. While balls are in freezer, melt chocolate according to directions.

Pull the Oreo Truffles out of freezer, and dip into chocolate. Garnish with reserved Oreo crumbs before the chocolate sets up.

Put the balls back into the freezer and let chocolate set and enjoy!

Makes about 30 balls.

Tips:

I use Nestle Baking Melts White Chocolate. Cooking chocolate is the easiest to melt and keep at the right temperature. Try them with your favourite chocolate!

To melt chocolate, quarter fill a saucepan with water and bring to simmer. Balance a smaller saucepan or glass bowl on the rim of the first saucepan and add the chocolate in small amounts, stirring the whole time.

When dipping, use a toothpick to save your fingers. Leave the toothpicks in the balls for ease of eating.

Get creative and substitute the Oreo's for other types of biscuits (hello Tim Tam's) or try it with fruit (lemon is delicious). The ones in the photo have been sprinkled with Peppermint Crisp.
