Working in the travel industry & having shared some of my overseas adventures in the blogging world, I look forward to also sharing my experiences of what Brisbane & it's surrounds have to offer.

Breakfast and Bubbly with a view - a great start to the day
We'd experienced the treat of going on a hot-air balloon ride and part of the package once our feet were firmly back on the ground was breakfast at O'Reillys.
I'd heard of O'Reilly's Retreat in the Gold Coast Hinterland but didn't realise they had a separate business situated a few minutes drive from the village of Canungra - O'Reilly's Canungra Valley Vineyards where you could experience the feeling of yesteryear in the historic homestead and enjoy meals, wine tasting, vineyard views and barbeques or picnics by a picturesque creek.
O'Reilly's Canungra Valley Vineyards - a large sign at the entrance makes it easy to find.
As we were there for the buffet breakfast, we were greeted by a friendly staff member with a glass of bubbly to start the meal off and chose to take a seat on the verandah so we could soak up the beautiful view. However, there is plenty of seating inside should that be your preference.
Relaxing vineyard views and a glass of bubbly. What a great way to start the day.
There was a good range in the buffet, starting off with the continental breakfast (cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juice), followed by the cooked choices (bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes, hash browns, mushrooms, baked beans, toast, croissants) and of course your choice of tea or coffee. Everything tasted delicious and once items in the buffet were finished, they were quickly replenished. You can also choose to order from the breakfast a la carte menu should you prefer.

As we had some time to spare, we had a look at what else this picturesque venue had to offer. The homestead itself, which was built in the 1850's and moved to its present position in the 1980's, is interesting where you can indulge in wine tastings in the bar area plus also explore some of it's history which is detailed in many of the photos on the walls. There are also stories of a resident ghost who was one of the original residents - no sightings on our visit (I'm really OK with that).

What I really loved was the beautiful creek area at the back of the homestead. You can arrange picnic and barbeque packs from the venue (no BYO), and there are tables and chairs already in place so all you have to do is relax and enjoy with a glass or bottle of their wine from the bar. Even better is that you can enjoy a wine tasting before purchasing.
