In spring, you can enjoy a display of orchids and other flowers for which The Grampians area is called 'Garden of Victoria'. All year round, experience local wildlife, including wallabies, possums and echidnas just to name a few. Wake up every day to the bird's songs. Enjoy the evenings by the bonfire and admire the night sky far away from city lights.

If you have a four-legged friend, contact Chris and Pauline for arrangement. BBQ is available for guest and swings for kids. Every cabin has a queen size bed, air-conditioning, wood fireplace, television and DVD player. Tea, coffee, sugar and milk is provided at guest arrival as well as oil and vinegar. The self-contained kitchen is well equipped, so there is everything at hand if you would like to use your culinary skills.

While accommodation in Halls Gap is closer to popular trails - it may also be very busy. Orchid Lanes Cottages are very quiet and only 30 minutes drive from Halls Gap. If you are an owner of the Tesla electric car, the supercharger is only 30 minutes away in Horsham. You can ask Chris and Pauline to top-up your battery using the socket conveniently located at the side of every cottage.

If you decide to explore beautiful trails, The Pinnacle is a must to see – easy to moderate is suitable for families with children from about 7 years old. McKenzies Falls offers easy access and where there is not much water, it is an opportunity to build castles from river pebbles – a great activity for young and old. You can also visit Ballarat with its many attractions. The most popular Sovereign Hill – an open-air museum where time stopped in the 1850s. Search for gold, visit Victorian theatre, attend the lesson in local school and have your picture taken in the Victorian era costume. 1850s not for you? Go further back in time and visit the Kryal Castle – medieval theme park located only 8k, from Ballarat Wildlife Park. Only these three attractions will keep you busy for 2-3 days. Again for Tesla cars owners – supercharger is located in Ballarat, so you can recharge your battery before heading back to your cosy cottage.
