Citrus orchards were plentiful in the Hills Shire back in the 60's and thus this festival's name was born from the local industry. A celebration of the first blossoms of the orange tree and now in its 55th year with a new location at Castle Hill Showground, this festival is going to be bigger and better than ever. Loads of entertainment, amusement rides, food stalls and designer markets are all squeezed into one weekend for your enjoyment.

The festival parade returns with zest and is sure to be full of colourful characters. New festivities as well as familiar favourites abound. Full of family fun, there is so much for everyone to delight in. Guys will love the classic cars and bikes display, gardeners will love the garden competition display and the Evolution of Bonsai event, and art lovers will enjoy the Annual Art Awards.

For book lovers, there's a pop-up library, and on the other end of the spectrum, sports lovers won't be disappointed either. A host of activities from footy club Parramatta Eels, cricket's Sydney Thunder team and basketball's Sydney Kings will keep fans busy, along with spin classes and Bike 'n' Blend classes for fitness enthusiasts, run by Medibank. Bikes will be fitted with a juicer and cyclists will cycle their way to a healthy thirst quencher. In the Active Zest Sports Zone you'll be able to check in for a free spinal assessment and refuel with fresh fruits and juices.

Children will also enjoy the new Kids Music Fest on the Local Blooms community stage with favourite yellow Wiggle Greg Page and Butterscotch Playground, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Jessie Attard and Ant-1 The Musician interacting with the audience. Play area, Pippa's Playland, will have balloon twisting, face painting, circus works, a hula hoop workshop, drumming workshop, petting zoo, and wildlife and reptile displays. Don't miss Batman and the Batmobile, and the mobile Tumbletown with its slides, soft ball pit and climbing apparatus.

If they're into craft, they may want to learn how to make their own orange blossom tree at the Education Pavilion, using recycled materials. A Waste 2 Art competition will also display the best 2D and 3D art creations from primary school children. When they've burnt all that energy they can drop into a bean bag and relax at the Twilight Cinema.

Showcasing the best of the Sydney Hills community, this free event will also allow theatre buffs to catch a special preview of The Fall of the House of Usher at the Pavilion Theatre, presented by the Castle Hill Players. Furthermore, there's dancing and singing from local performers whilst enjoying tasty bites from Eat Street. A bird's eye view can be obtained from the Ferris wheel and a trackless train will transport. Fireworks will explode in the night air so stick around to see some more colour and go out with a bang.

Parking is available onsite and nearby so bring your family and friends, say hello to the stilt walkers and bask in the glory of spring with this amazing array of experiences.
