I'm a freelance writer PR assistant and uni student living in Sydney.
On Sunday 29 July at the Sydney Conservatorium, six finalists from around Australia will sing their hearts out in the hopes of winning the prestigious Lady Fairfax New York Scholarship. The scholarship is worth $43 000, so obviously it's no small sum of money!

The public recital will begin at 4pm. Along with the finalists, special guest Mezzo-Soprano, Milijana Nikolic will perform. Stuart Maunder AM will host the evening. The aim of this concert is to provide an easy platform for new Opera listeners to get a taste of the Opera world, without being overwhelmed by it- 'Opera Lite" they call it. Due to this, the concert would suit long time Opera fans and newcomers alike.

This year's adjudicators are Anke Höppner, Bradley Daley & Andrew Dalton.

Tickets are reasonably priced at $35 for adults and $20 for students. Families are welcome. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call Opera Australia on 02 9327 4916 or visit the website.
