Spectacular new gardens, kite flying, music, face painting
The National Arboretum has four new gardens opening, as part of the seven garden Gallery of Gardens projects. The first four will be unveiled on April 2nd, for visitors to walk through and admire. There will be the The Open Gardens Australia Celebration Garden, The Labyrinth Garden, The AIDS Garden of Reflection and the Mununja the Butterfly Garden.
Between 12pm - 3pm there will be free guided tours of the new gardens and kids can bring their own kite to fly out on the grass ampitheatre, or buy a kit there for $10 and decorate and make their own. Free face painting will also be available for kids. Listen to live music by the Canberra Gay and Lesbian Qwire and the Black Hat Band on the grassy Events Terrace, bring a picnic or enjoy lunch from Sprout Cafe.
