Join the Australian Ceramics Open Studios as they celebrate clay, creativity and community at the Moorleigh Ceramic Co-op for one weekend only in August. This free event allows members from the public to take a sneak-peak inside the studio and mingle with the artists involved. Works will be on display and for sale – from functional and sculptural to purely whimsical. It all kicks into action from 10.00am-4.00pm, on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August.
The Moorleigh Ceramic Co-op studio space, which was originally a school classroom in the early 90's, is home to five artists, each at different stages of their creative careers. This year, more than 130 ceramics studios around the nation have registered for the Australian Ceramics Open Studios, ranging from well-known exhibiting artists to lesser known skilled artisans, from inner city studios to regional pottery groups. Twenty-three studios will be opening in Victoria, 20 of them residing in and around Melbourne. For further details, visit the website of the Australian Ceramics Open Studios.
