Join the City of Unley in celebrating their 150th Anniversary through the showcasing of iconic historic buildings throughout Unley.

As part of these celebrations, St Augustine's Anglican Church will fill with the melodic sounds of the Unley Symphony Orchestra in an enchanting performance incorporating the historic pipe organ and church bells on Sunday 7 February 2021 at 3 pm.

St Augustine's Anglican Church is centrally located in the Unley civic and shopping precinct at 183 Unley Road, Unley. The original church building was dedicated on 28 February 1870 and the current church building on 28 August 1924. Both buildings remain, however, and are included on the State Heritage Register along with the old school building.

The historical pipe organ, which will feature as part of this event, is the second organ to grace this beautiful historical church. Originating in St Peter's Cathedral in 1877, this Bishop and Son organ was removed, reconstructed and relocated to St Augustine's in March 1931.

The bells which will also feature in this event is a carillon of 13 bells contained within the landmark bell tower which was built to remember those within the local community who served in World War I.

Doors will open at 2.30 pm and tickets are free. Bookings are essential as numbers are limited.
