Located at 5 Linwood Avenue, Aldgate, is a shady garden called The Glades. The garden has many tall trees with meandering paths for strolling. It has views of shaded woodlands and sunlit glades that gives the property its name.

The owners, The Wilkinsons, have established and improved the gardens for more than 30 years. They have built impressive staircases leading up to the house, terrace walls and flat functional spaces on the gently sloping one-acre block.

In spring, the garden will showcase a myriad of colours with dogwoods, delicate pink kolkwitzia and deutzia, hydrangeas, aquilegias, foxgloves, alstroemeria, cream clivia and the graceful angel's fishing wands.

A special feature in the garden is a rocky waterfall with water from a creek flowing into a tranquil pond below.

You will have the opportunity to visit The Glades on Saturday 26 November 2022 and Sunday 27 November 2022 from 10:00am to 4.30pm. The entry fee is $10 and $8 for certain concessions.

Bookings are not required, however, please bring cash as EFTPOS facilities may not be available.  Morning and afternoon teas are available and there will be plant sales as well. For more information, visit the Open Gardens SA website .
