If you have always wanted to grow fruit trees in your backyard, then come and visit Midway Park, a special garden featuring a vast variety of fruit trees. This large garden surrounds a beautiful blue stone villa built in the 1890s. There are around 70 different fruit and nut trees including many that are unusual and not often grown in SA climatic conditions. You may have heard of jujube fruit but wonder what it looks like. Well, this is your opportunity to see one. There are also five different bananas, avocados, figs, apples, guavas, pomegranates, coffee, red and white dragon fruits, black and white sapotes, jackfruit, custard apples, and 20 different citruses including chinotto and pomelos. There is a 20-metre-long 'fruit cage' planted with six rows of espaliered fruit trees and delicious jujubes, and two greenhouses with cold-sensitive tropical and subtropical fruit trees.

Midway Park, situated at 2 Angove Court, Rosslyn Park, will be open to visitors from Saturday 11 March to Monday 13 March 2023 from 9:30am to 4.30pm each day. Other activities for the day will include Devonshire tea, sausage sizzle, plant sales and a raffle. There will also be garden tours and speakers on various topics. Refer to the Open Gardens SA website for more information.

The entry fee is $10 and $8 for certain concessions. Please bring cash as EFTPOS facilities are not always available.

Please also note that the garden has two bee hives, a small, covered pond and some steps. Also, no dogs, please.
