On the weekend of Saturday, 18th February and Sunday 19th February 2023, you will have the opportunity to visit Joe's Connected Garden. As the name suggests, this is in fact five gardens from nearby 15 properties coming together to showcase some 750 different productive plants. There is a vast range of fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, berries, nuts, medicinal plants, edible weeds and fruiting cacti. There are 270 different figs, seven types of mangos, several varieties of coffee plants, and rare plants such as a peanut tree, a peanut butter tree, a Japanese raisin tree, and Brazil cherry, just to name a few.

These gardens offer a learning experience in productive gardening. You will gain ideas for your own garden. There will be demonstrations and informative talks on all aspects of productive gardening. There will also be displays, plant sales, and gate prizes and for the children, there will be a yellow brick road activity. Morning or afternoon tea, light vegan and vegetarian lunches will be available for purchase.

Joe's Connected Garden is located at 6 Argent Street, Elizabeth Grove and will be open from 10.00am to 4.30pm both days. The entry fee is $10 and $8 for some concession. Please bring cash as EFTPOS facilities may not be available.    

Please note that the gardens are not suitable for prams or wheelchairs as there are uneven pathways. There is also a partially covered lily pond. For more information, visit the Open Gardens SA website .
