If you love a true cottage garden full of colourful flowers and sweet scents, then come and visit Frosty Flats. As part of Open Garden SA, Frosty Flats, situated at 2891 Onkaparinga Valley Road, Birdwood, will be open to visitors on Saturday 11th and Sunday, 12th March 2023 from 10.00am to 4.30pm both days.

Wander along little paths lined with beds crammed with an assortment of roses, perennials, and succulents under shady flowering trees. The original garden surrounded the old 1880s stone farmhouse, but many years ago it was expanded into what was once a paddock and in the newer area, informal paths are again a feature. Again there are beds along the paths with vibrant and colourful flowers like roses, alstroemeria, asters, geraniums, penstemons, cannas, salvias and buddleias.

Frosty Flats will delight all gardeners, so plan a visit. The entry fee is $10 and $8 for certain concessions. Please bring cash as EFTPOS will not always be available.

Other activities for the day will include Devonshire teas, light lunches and plant sales. Please note that this garden is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushers. There is also a pond. For more information, visit the Open Gardens SA website .
