This summer, you and your family are invited to discover Stangate House and Garden in the heart of Aldgate.
Bookings are now open for the following events:
Sunday 24 January
Sunday 28 February
Sunday 28 March
Held from 10am to 2pm, this is a special opportunity to immerse yourself in one of the Hill's best-kept secrets!
Designed by Adelaide architect Eric McMichael, the beautiful 1940's house is set in four acres and overlooks one of the most beautiful camellia gardens in Australia.
The garden was designed by Elsie Cornish, a renowned garden designer who landscaped with a unique sense of colour and composition.
In 2012, the gardens were recognised by the International Camellia Society as an International Camellia Garden of Excellence, at the time one of only 3 in Australia and only 30 worldwide. It is also the home of the Camellia Society Adelaide Hills Inc.
Come along with a comfy blanket and gourmet treats and find a spot under one of Australia's largest oak trees, where people have picnicked for over a hundred years!
While the camellias are in full bloom in early spring, the garden has something magical to offer visitors any time of the year. Bring the whole family and enjoy the tranquil garden setting!
The entry fee is $8 Adult, $6 NT Member, Child under 15 FREE, $20 Group (up to 4 people).
