Want to learn how to record, produce, mix or master music in small, intimate classes without the expense and time of a degree, university or college?

Sydney's newest music production school is hosting an Open Day on Saturday 14th March (10am – 2pm). For those who are interested in music production but unsure about it or want to get a feeling for the industry and equipment, it's a chance to get a small taste of the industry within a professional, real-world, working production environment.

Viking Lounge (a high-end, boutique music and mastering suite featuring world-class facilities and four separate studios) has been operating for several years under the helm of Paul Stefanidis, a mastering engineer with approximately 100 gold and platinum awards and experience working with Universal, Sony, EMI, Fuji Motion Pictures and more.

The Viking Lounge is now also offering short courses and workshops in mixing and mastering techniques, music recording and production and setting up a home studio.

At the Open Day and Launch Event , visitors will get the opportunity to take a tour of the facilities and the four studios and experience practical demonstrations of recording and mixing.


Teachers at the Academy, including Paul (mentioned above) and Jason de Wilde, (a former Head of Audio with the Australian Institute of Music and general manager of creative colleges in Australia and internationally), will be available to answer any questions and discuss courses. Both Jason and Paul have decades of experience teaching students in the field.

The event is at Ultimo, a 10 to 15-minute walk from Central Station.
