I am a freelance writer and photographer from Sydney who has now had five books published on fishing. I also write for the NSW Fishing Monthly, Visit the Shire, Fisho App & Tackle Tactics. I also like to travel and experience new things to do.
Come one, come all to Linnwood House
You can't keep great volunteers down as the Friends of Linnwood House will be holding an Open Day on Sunday the 14th of July from 11am to 4pm at 25 Byron Rd, Guildford.

These open day by the Friends of Linnwood House are always a great event.

As usual, the front lawn will be filled to the brim with magnificently restored vehicles for you to browse over and talk with the car enthusiasts on how they went about restoring their pride and joy.

When I was last there, I even spotted an Anglia that brought back memories of my mum and dad driving across the Nullarbor Plains from Perth to Sydney and back again. It would have been a great experience, but not something that I would have liked to have done.

This car was very similiar to the one that my mum and dad drove across the Nullarbor when it was all dirt. Image by Gary Brown.

Some of the anticipated vehicle displays on the front lawn will be from the:

Inside the lovingly restored Linnwood House, there will be an exhibition of Old Sewing Machines from the Private Collection of John & Christine McKenna. It will include some machines donated to the Friends of Linnwood. Many years ago, I used to have an old Singer sewing machine that I had converted into a rod lath for building fishing rods.

It has been a while since I have ventured out to Guildford that I may take our grandsons out to see the magnificent vehicles that they have on display and while we are there, I am sure that we will get a couple of sausage sizzle from the BBQ.

The Friends of Linnwood House put so much of their time and effort into raising money through these Open House Days that your support would be greatly appreciated.

So why don't you get your family and friends together and pay a visit to the next Open Day at Linnwood House on the 14th of July as there is so much to see and do while you are there!
