Community gardens are a great way to keep your hand-in with something you love, when you don't have garden space or happen to live in an apartment. At the East Keilor Sustainability Street Community Garden, members can rent a plot and plant vegetables, flowers and herbs in their plots. Friends of the garden are also welcome. There's also a shared herb plot and strawberry patch on the grounds. Chickens are an extra activity which members can join.
The Community Garden is having an Open Day at 10A Tuppal Placer, Keilor East on Sunday 7 April 2019 from 10am to 3pm. Entry is FREE. There'll be seedlings and plants for sale eg. lettuce, onions, broccoli, and more, with more varieties to be announced closer to date. Keep your ear to the ground via the event page. Enjoy a BBQ and Devonshire Tea while you're there. For more events, stay updated via the Community Garden's Facebook page.
