Great wine, great food and live music

On the weekend of the 15th and 16th of June 2019, the fabulous Open Cellars Winter Weekend returns with 12 award-winning and family-owned boutique wineries to explore.

Entry is FREE at all wineries - so grab the kids, head out to the beautiful Nillumbik Wine Region (just north-west of Melbourne's CBD) and enjoy a fun winter weekend, sampling fine wines and delicious food and relaxing to lovely live music!

Start planning the ultimate wine trail today! The wineries are nestled among the green rolling hills of the Nillumbik Shire. In this pretty part of the world, among country Australian hamlets with typical Aussie names like Kangaroo Ground, Smiths Gully, Arthurs Creek, Yarrambat and Watsons Creek, the place oozes with history and charm. To get to the Nillumbik Wine Region (only 45 minutes from the CBD or Melbourne Airport) head north of Melbourne, heading to Eltham or Greensborough.

Participating wineries include Buttermans Track Wines, Hildebrand Ridge Organic Vineyard, Kings of Kangaroo Ground, Giammarino Wines, Nillumbik Estate, Easthill Winery, Panton Hill Vineyard and Winery, Massaros, Yarrambat Estate, Punch Wines, Shaws Road Winery and Wedgetail Estate. Click here to view the complete detailed information on each winery.

Most wineries will be open from 11am to 5pm over the weekend (trading times vary between wineries, click here for more details), so there will be plenty of time to leisurely meander through the magnificent countryside and enjoy the delicious array of gourmet food and current release wine tastings and great entertainment on offer.

Each winery will be presenting their own unique program of events and activities; from live music with local musicians to special family-friendly menus, there's sure to be something for everyone! Best of all - there's no need to book, just turn up and join in the fun!

Check out what's on and where at

In addition to discovering what goes on behind the scenes at each winery and sampling quality Yarra Valley wines, you can also stay at a cosy BnB in the Nillumbik Wine Region. Why not begin your adventure on Saturday morning with a visit to the famous St Andrews Country Market, then follow your own wine trail, stopping for tasty country fare at lunchtime.
