With over 12 wineries to explore between Kangaroo Ground and St Andrews, Open Cellars Winter is on this weekend from 11am to 5pm. So grab a few friends, a map and plan your weekend day trip to escape the city and enjoy the views of the rolling Artisan Hills whilst driving in between boutique wineries, meet the wine makers, sample hand crafted award-winning wines, or share an antipasto platter.

Stating at Kangaroo Ground, there are 4 wineries not far from one another. Massaro's with views of the Melbourne skyline, enjoy estate grown Pinot noir, Shiraz and Verdelho with a meal from the rustic kitchen serving Italian authentic wood fire pizza.

Stop at Nillibumbik Estate for some live music and try their new vintages. The views are pretty spectacular as well. From there
Panton Hill Winery is one of my favourite wineries in the area, simply due to its beautiful stone buildings reminiscent of Tuscany. Enjoy Mediterranean style food and sample 9 wines. Day, sweet, red, white, sparkling and fortified.

Don't miss out on Shaw's Road Winery, a family run winery known for its cold climate wines, also a choice of locally made cider and beer on tap. A full lunch menu is available, so stay and enjoy the views next to a warm open fire in a cosy cafe.
