Considering Nambour is only a small town with a population of roughly 15,000 residents and just one shopping centre, there is a surprisingly large amount of op shops. Spread throughout the streets surrounding the town centre, there are a total of nine opportunity shops selling new and pre-loved clothes and merchandise.
Some people turn their nose up at the thought of buying anything second-hand but the age old myth that op shops are full of old-fashioned clothes you wouldn't be seen dead in is
eradicated. Not only will you be able to find some quality new and pre-loved clothing at affordable prices, you can pick up some trendy accessories (shoes, jewellery, handbags), bric-a-brac, books, furniture, baby items, toys and some cool vintage items like vinyl records, comics and collectables. If you take the time to browse through their stores you'll find some fantastic bargains, both new and pre-loved treasures.
All the op shops financially support a charity, so you know your spare dollars are going somewhere deserving. A majority of workers are volunteers and if you are interested in dedicating your time you can telephone the op shops directly to enquire.
