Op Shopping in Magnificent Mornington
When I visit a place the thrifter in me likes to know where the op shops are.

Here is my Mornington and surrounds guide.

Mornington is a beautiful town worth visiting for so many reasons. It has popular safe beaches, cafes and restaurants galore, its famous hot spa, wineries and beautiful scenery.

If you are visiting with the intention to op shop though I hope this list helps you out and please double check with the smaller op shops before visiting to confirm their opening hours.


1. RSPCA 193 Main Street, Mornington
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 9am-3pm
This op shop is a favourite with animal lovers and is divided into two stores, the newest addition hosts furniture and collectables.

2. Mornington Central Salvos 206 Main Street, Mornington (03) 5976 8359
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9.00 am -5.30pm and Saturday 9.00am to 5.00pm
Large store with a good selection. Don't forget Monday's they have a $2 section and every week one colour coded offer with 50% off. You can also use your loyalty card to accumulate points towards discounts.

3. Vinnies Mornington 184 Main Street, Mornington (03) 5975 4166
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 9:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Great selection in a large store. Spoiled for choice if you are looking for clothing.

4. Beach End Op Shop 1/10 Main Street Mornington
Supporting the Mornington Community Information and Support Centre this is a boutique but affordable style op shop.

5. Tru Opportunity 8 Frank Street, Mornington
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9:30 am – 4:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 1 pm
One of Mornington's newest op shops it is being run by a lady with a passion raise funds for charities nominated and voted for by you.

6. Peter's Place Op Shop 3 Queen Street, Mornington
Opening hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 3.30pm and Saturday 9.30am to 12.30pm
Small but jam packed this is an old school church run op shop well worth a visit.

7. Mornington Park Primary School Op Shop 22 Robertson Drive (03) 5975 4011
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 10 am – 4:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 2 pm
Run to support the local primary school they have some really passionate volunteers hoping to raise funds for a school gym.

8. Church of Christ Op Shop 90 Wilsons Rd, Mornington
Opening hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10 am to 4pm, Tuesday and Thursday 10 am to 3pm and Saturday 9 am to 12 pm
Run by dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers you'll find some great and affordable goodies here.

9. Vinnies Mornington Tyabb 4/175-179 Mornington-Tyabb Road, Mornington Tyabb (03) 5976 8526
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 pm - 5:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
On the outskirts of Mornington this is a large, well laid out store which will keep you browsing for hours.

10. Community Caring Inc Op Shop 4/175-179 Mornington-Tyabb Road, Mornington (03) 5973 5522
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 9:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Another big light op shop offering a big variety including furniture, only a few doors away from the Vinnies store which is a bonus.

11. Mornington Salvos Unit 3/205 Tyabb Road, Mornington (03) 5973 5108
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 9:00 pm - 5:00 pm

12. Outlook Environmental / Mornington Tip Shop 29 Racecourse Rd
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 9:00 pm - 4:00 pm
One man's trash is literally another man's treasure here! Items saved from landfill can be found here at what is commonly known as Mornington Tip Shop. It's opposite the racecourse so if you're heading to the Mornington Craft Market pop in here. Great place to pick up items not commonly found in op shops such as garden and building supplies.
