Come up for a cocktail, stay for dinner
Escape the bustle of Kings Street and slip upstairs for a long cool drink and a view of the street below. The Onyx Lounge is a warm room, quietly tucked away near the station.
The cocktail list is long, with a little retro twist and the food menu offers plenty of tapas share plates, or main meals and traditional bar fare, including burgers and pizzas.
We ordered from the share plates, which range from $12-$14, and ordered eight dishes for the four of us. Plenty of seafood offerings, from a tasty ceviche to garlic prawns. Spanish tapas influenced offerings include chorizo and potato, and empanadas.
The cocktails are around $14, though there is a happy hour from 5-7pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with $10 cocktails.
They also offer an extensive beer, wine and cider range at reasonable prices.
So slip in for a drink, with the easy option of staying for dinner.
