Learn about Aboriginal culture and history in Victoria, and culturally respectful ways to work alongside Aboriginal people and communities at the Online Cultural Awareness Training upcoming over 2 days on the following dates.
For the cultural awareness training events you need to book way in advance and get in quick as they're usually booked out eg. of 10 events Jul-Dec, 8 are sold out. If you'd like to make a workplace booking for organisations, government departments etc. SEE HERE. Class numbers are small and held online via Zoom. Small numbers mean you have more time for questions and interaction to grow your knowledge about Aboriginal lives before and after colonisation, the stolen generation, the resilience and cultural overview of Aboriginal people and more that'll help you work through what could be a complicated cultural footprint to understand without training.
In other events, learn about Genograms and the important role they have in family history, connectedness and relationships within the community. Find out more via the event page .
Nikara's Journey Workshop is an appropriate event for carers of Aboriginal children. Get an introductory knowledge and understanding to assist them by putting their best interest at heart. The training follows the story of Nikara and her foster parents as they learn how to support her, keep her safe and respect her identity by keeping her connected to her culture, family and community. Find out more via the event page link given.
